RIp Dick Fortman

One of the saddest days the game has ever known.....
Richard Fortman passed away last weekend.
Many of the photos that I (Jay Hinnershitz) have posted on the PHOTOS page of the OMOCH website were originally Richard's, they were sent to Earl Hangen for use in Earl's "Wood's Ladder Reports" that he sent out during the 1900's-2005.( Of Which I have all his original copies)
These were sent to the Mail players who played on Wood's Ladder, and in the ACF Mail Tournaments....as such, they were not seen by many, so I thought I would post them on the site. I asked Richard his opinion of this idea, and he granted me the permission to use any photo he ever sent to Earl....
Some of the photos Earl did not use in his WLR, but kept in his scrapbook.
I have several more that I will be posting over the next few months...some of Dick from back in the 1950's.
Richard Fortman was, is, and always will be a legendary figure within the game. His contributions are too numerous to mention.....could fill volumes.
From the very first day that I began to study the mysteries, and history of this game, Dick Fortman has been a personal hero of mine.

RIP Richard....you will be missed...
