Copac is a Mimas service, based at The University of Manchester.

The Copac® library catalogue gives free access to the merged online catalogues of major University and National Libraries in the UK and Ireland, including the British Library

Copac includes details of materials held in libraries throughout the UK, plus Trinity College Dublin Library in Ireland. Copac includes the catalogues of all the UK National Libraries, a wide range of major University libraries, as well as specialist collections such as the National Art Library (V&A Museum).


Basically, it is a search engine. After typing in the words "the game of draughts" in the Key Word Box and sorting the results in reverse date order, the two pre 1756 draughts prints appeared first on the list.
A very useful tool for the researcher.


Mimas is a JISC and ESRC-supported national data centre providing the UK Higher Education, Further Education and research community with access to key data and information resources to support teaching, learning and research across a wide range of disciplines.
